A passionate political activist, proud Jew, relentless creative spirit and champion for gay rights, Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America) is the subject of this documentary. The film explores Tony's beginnings in the Deep South and how he grew to become one of today's most important and entertaining artists. Academy Award-winning director Freida Lee Mock weaves together interviews with leading theater artists, personal moments from Kushner's life and scenes from his plays to create a film that encourages us all to fight for a better world.
